  1. Fabric Technologist Salary – £45,000 - £50,000 Potential Route GCSE Textiles A Level Textiles Design @ University Potential Route GCSE Hospitality NVQ Level 2 in Food and Drink Service, or Hospitality Service. • Fabric Technologist • to many of the UK's high street retailers and mail order groups and they are now looking to strengthen their Technical team by recruiting a talented and pro-active Fabric Technologist. • Role Objective: • Running and managing the fabric section of the quality department and reporting back to the technical manager as necessary • Managing the fabric quality right through from order placement to garment delivery to customer • Responsible for: • Managing and providing technical expertise for David Howard UK • Advise mills on a daily / as needed basis with technical support and advice • Ensure fabric quality is of David Howard UK standard • Liaise with sales / design to make sure that all fabric details and standards are discussed prior to booking (pre production ) • Potential visits to fabric mills to keep / establish a good working relationship • Reviewing test reports and discussing with mills non- conformances and solutions • Confirming shipment approvals • Working along side the junior technologist to review internal fabric inspections & testing • Updating / discuss with sales on quality issues • Working with customer submission processes • Reviewing fabric issues at the factory e.g. shade continuity or high fault rates • Providing additional support to Tech manager in developments • Core Skills: • Good communication / interpersonal skills • 5/10 years experience in the industry with fabric technical responsibilities • Experience of working with off shore mills • Working Knowledge of textiles and garment make • Being able to work to deadlines • Flexibility
