Peripheral Ring Road • Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) around Bangalore city to decongest the city traffic • Construction is proposed in two phases : • Phase 1 : Tumkur Road to Hosur Road crossing Bellary Road, Old Madras Road, Varthur Road and Sarjapur Road – Length 65kms • Phase 2 : Hosur Road to Tumkur Road crossing Kanakapura Road, Mysore Road and Magadi Road – Length 51kms

Peripheral Ring Road : Salient Features • Total length of PRR – 116 kms with Right of Way – 100 m • Land required – 2825 acres • 8 lanes divided dual carriageway with service roads of 3 lanes on either side • Central median of 12m with a provision for Metro / Mono rail and buffer zones of 14m between service road and main carriageway • Provision for longitudinal drains in the buffer zones and along the edges of the service road on both sides • All major junctions across National Highways and State Highways are proposed with interchanges to have signal free corridor

Peripheral Ring Road : Salient Features • Major Bridges / ROB / RUB proposed across major Nalas and Railway lines • Pedestrians / cattle passes proposed at all villages and minor road crossings • Road furniture's include street lighting for both main carriageway and service roads, lane marking, signage • Arboriculture development in the buffer zones and landscaping in central median • Service and utility ducts are proposed along both the service roads

B M R Ring Road Network • Satellite Towns Ring Roads (STRR) : 204 kms, 90 metres – Connecting towns around Bangalore city to each other and to International Airport • Intermediate Ring Roads (IRR) : 160 kms, 90 metres – Connecting industrial & residential developments around Bangalore city to each other and to International Airport • Radial Roads : 180 kms, 60 metres – Radiating from Bangalore city connecting BMR – Satellite Town Ring Roads & BMR – Intermediate Ring Roads to the Peripheral and Outer Ring Roads • Town Ring Roads – Around important towns in Bangalore Rural district viz. Anekal (24Km), Kanakapura (25Km), Ramanagara (24Km), Magadi (15Km), Nelamangala (32Km), Doddaballapura (23Km), Devanahalli (24Km) and Hosakote (28Km) • New Airport Express way : Radiating from Outer Ring Road of Bangalore city and connecting New International Airport near Devanahalli and providing onward connectivity to NH 207 / BMR- STRR

Intermodal Transit Center at Bangalore KSRTC and BMTC propose to jointly develop the existing Kempegowda Bus Terminal at Subhashnagar into an Intermodal Transit Center through Private Sector Participation on BOT basis Objectives : • “Welcome gate” which will become the new focus for the city • State of the art / modern terminal infrastructure facilities, amenities, services and conveniences • integration of the terminals with the proposed mass transit system and City Railway Station • Commercial development Site area : 31 acres Estimated cost : US $ 200 Million Request for qualification process completed

  18. Eco – Tourism Projects in Karnataka Nodal Agency : Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR) Development of 10 new eco-tourism destinations with themes in the State. Presently JLR has identified about 4 locations (Almatti, Bonal tank, Jog Falls, Desur) for development Estimated redevelopment cost of around US $ 3 million ( for 4 locations ) The proposal envisages development of these projects either as a management arrangement or on long-term BOT concessions Facilities such as water sports, trekking, fishing, hang-gliding etc to be provided

  19. :OBJECTIVES : KARNATAKA DIASPORA CELL • To forge a symbiotic relationship between Karnataka and its Diaspora. • To provide information on Karnataka, developments and investment opportunities in the State across all potential sectors. • To facilitate investors among NRKs (Non-Resident Kannadigas) and PKOs (People of Karnataka Origin) in setting up their ventures in the State. • To draw up the knowledge reservoir of Diaspora for development of the State. • To promote Karnataka’s culture and heritage overseas. • To Act as window to provide information to Diaspora about education facilities, health facilities available in Karnataka and other information of interest to the Diaspora.
