  1. 7 BROWSER EXTENSIONS FOR WEB DEVELOPERS

  2.  According to the latest market share data posted on several websites, Google Chrome currently more popular than Internet Explorer, Firefox, Edge, Safari, and Opera.  Many web developers prefer Chrome to other web browsers to take advantage of a set of built-in web authoring and debugging tools.  They can access Chrome Developer Tools (DevTools) directly from the web browsers.  The tools included in DevTools help web developers to accelerate JavaScript debugging, improve network performance, measure page loading speed, and inspect website resources.  They have the option to choose from a wide range of browser extensions for web developers according to their precise needs.

  3. 7 Chrome Extensions that Web Developers Must Take Advantage of 1) Web Developer  The extension adds a toolbar button to the web browser.  The toolbar button includes a set of tools required by developers to perform common web development tasks.  The Web Developer extension further enables developers to access the development tools directly from the browser.  The tools make it easier for developers to work with JavaScript, CSS, cookies, forms, layout, and images.

  4. 2) Responsive Web Design Tester  Most web developers nowadays adopt responsive web design to make the website accessible on both desktop and mobile browsers with a single code base. But they still need to check the website’s accessibility and responsiveness across browsers. The Responsive Web Design Tester extension makes it easier for programmers to evaluate the website’s accessibility on mobile browsers. It emulates mobile browsers and previews the website as it will appear on mobile devices. 3) CSS Viewer  The extension is designed as a simple CSS viewer for Chrome. The web developers can use the CSS Viewer extension to access the basic CSS information required by them quickly. After enabling the extension, they can simply hover the mouse on an element and see its attributes on a floating panel. The extensions helps developers to identify important CSS information like font, background, text, color, box, positioning and effects attributes.

  5. 4) CSS-Shack  Like other image editing software, CSS-Shack extension enables users to create layers styles. But the developers can use the extension to crate layers styles, export the styles to a CSS file, and use the CSS file on the website.  In addition to supporting layers styles, CSS-Shack also provides a number of tools to customize the designs. 5) WhatFont  Often developers use typography to make a website look both appealing and distinct. Many developers even browse through other websites to find out new and innovative fonts. WhatFont extension makes it easier for developers to identify the fonts used in a web page.  The user can simply hover on specific text to inspect the web font and detect the service through which the web font is rendered.

  6. 6) YSlow  A very large percentage of users nowadays abandon websites that take more than three seconds to load. Also, Google uses loading speed by a key search signal while ranking websites. Hence, developers have to explore ways to improve the loading speed of web pages to improve the website’s user experience and search engine visibility. YSlow makes it easier for web developers to measure the loading speed of a web page, and identify the factors affecting the page’s loading speed. It even suggests the measures required to make the web page load faster. 7) PHP Console  The usage statistics posted on several websites suggest that many programmers prefer PHP to other server-side programming language. But the programmers need robust code editing tools to write high quality and maintainable PHP code. The PHP Console extension enables programmers to execute PHP code remotely. It further displays coding errors and dumps PHP vars in the Google Chrome Console.
