  1. Mrs. Shirinzadeh’s3rd grade class 2011-2012

  2. Standard School Attire • Dress code – Polo style shirts, core pants/shorts, shirts and plain sweaters • The primary colors are khaki, navy & black slacks/skirts/shorts, and red, navy, blue, light blue, grey & white shirts. Also purple and white since it is our school colors. • Sweatshirts with similar colors, without pictures on them can be worn. Only Teasley logos can be on sweatshirts. • Shoes – regular shoes or sports shoes (NO sandals, crocs, or open-toed shoes) • Boots can ONLY be worn in the event of inclement weather.

  3. Specials • Our specials time is from 12:20 – 1:10. • Specials’ Schedule (Mon.& Thurs. – PE, Tues. – Spanish, Wed. – Art, Fri. – Music) • Must wear sneakers on PE days (Mon.& Thurs.)

  4. Label Belongings • Please label all personal items (jacket, book bag, lunch box, etc.). • Your child’s name should be clearly visible. • If an item gets misplaced, let me know and I can remind your child to check the lost and found.

  5. Lunch • We have lunch from 11:32 to 12:02. • Please feel free to join us by meeting us in the front hall by the cafeteria. • Food from outside restaurants may not be brought in to the cafeteria. • Please make sure to label all lunch money with your child’s name, grade, and teacher’s name. • Breakfast $1.00 • Lunch $1.60 ($2.50 for guests, even siblings) • Extra Milk 50¢ • Ice Cream 60¢

  6. Money • Please make sure any money you send in is marked properly and in the correct envelope. • ASP money must be in a brown ASP envelope that has been completely filled in. • PTA money can be in a plain envelope, but needs to be marked “PTA” and must show your child’s name, grade, and teacher’s name. • All money for field trips, performing arts, etc. that comes home with the white Teasley envelope must be returned in that envelope. • It must be completely filled in with your child’s name, classroom teacher’s name and grade and the necessary information at the bottom.

  7. Contacting Me • If you ever have a questions or concerns, please contact me. • You can drop a note in your child’s folder, email me (Monica.Shirinzadeh@cobbk12.org), or call me (770-437-5945) at school. • If you call during the regular school day, the secretary will take a message. • Due to our schedule, we may not receive your message until after the students have left. • If I have not returned your call by the next day, please drop a note in your child’s communication folder. • Email is usually the fastest way to reach me. • Please note that transportation changes can not be left on voice mail or email.

  8. Snack • Please send in a healthy snack for your child each day. • Please label your child’s snack. • All snacks need to be in a plastic bag. No containers. • We do not eat lunch until 11:32 and the children get hungry. • Snack time will be after math which ends at 9:40.

  9. Agendas/Take Home Folders • Please sign your child’s Tiger Pride behavior chart each night located at the front of the agenda. • You do not have to sign the agenda. • Your child will bring home his/her agenda every night. • The list of words on the right side are vocabulary words, not spelling words. • Please make sure you check your child’s plastic folder daily and remove the papers on the right side.

  10. Homework • Please help your child take responsibility for completing and returning homeworkand check his/her homework. • Homework is an extension of study at school and allows your child extra practice. • Completed homework is due the next day and should be in your child’s plastic folder. • Your child should be reading for 2o minutes each night. • All of the homework assignments will be written in your child’s agenda.

  11. Discipline • Behavior management is vital to creating a classroom where learning is the focus. • I want to develop a climate of respect and responsibility. • We will continue to use Teasley Tiger Pride Behavior Program. • The children are working on being PRO students! Prepared Respectful On Task

  12. Accelerated Reader • You or your child must fill out the red A.R. folder to take a test. • Each child will have their own reading goals and will be rewarded for achieving them. • The STAR test determines your child’s level

  13. Handouts • $6.00 donation for your child’s social studies magazine that is aligned with the Georgia standards and has improved CRCT scores. • Dialogue journals will come home every Friday starting this week. • Please take the time to write back to your child and return his/her dialogue journal on Monday. • Scope and sequence, report card information, math, science and social studies (objectives, essential questions and vocabulary)

Classroom Blog / Teasley News • I will update our classroom blog throughout the week. • Please sign up tonight to receive updated information. • Please read and share the blog with your child. • Please write your email on the paper provided before you leave, so I can add you to the email distribution list

  15. Wish List • Would love to have age-appropriate educational board games or games like scrabble, yahtzee, monopoly etc.
