  2. What do you need? • SEATS • Use the SPACE [levels] • Dance with EFFORT • Actions – certain steps • Stay on the beat – Tempo • Formations – Floor patterns PEOPLE • A group of 6 • A Choreographer • A Creative Designer • A Project Leader • Dancers

DANCE • 1 min performance • Create a costume OR use a PROP • Pick a song with Rhythm you can dance to. • Hip Hop moves go well with rap music • Jazz moves go well with popular music • Decide on a FAST or SLOW rhythm (slow is easy, but can be tricky too. Sometimes music can be too fast and difficult to follow)

  4. GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES • SHARE YOUR IDEAS • SUPPORT THE DIFFERENT LEVELS IN YOUR GROUP • RESPECT YOUR LEADERS • HAVE AN OPEN MIND ABOUT WHAT THE DANCE COULD BE LIKE OR LOOK LIKE… • USE YOUR TIME WELL • TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROJECT

  8. Your Guiding paper Fill out this form while you are working on your dance. It will help you to include all the Different aspects of a Dance. Your teacher will collect it for you at the end of each class.

  9. Creative director • make the dance INTRESTING OR SPECIAL • decide on the theme, the costume or prop, the music, the beginning and ending pose (or act) • decide everything with the choreographer

  11. Project • Is responsible for the final presentation • Make sure everyone participates and practices • Organizes extra meetings if needed • Contact dancers who miss a practice • Solve problems that arise • Contact teacher when needed

  13. Rehearse! • WORK TOGETHER AND SHARE IDEAS • BE CREATIVE • TEAM WORK WILL BE ASSESSED • BETTER EASY STEP AND TOGETHER, THEN DIFFICULT STEPS THAT NO BODY CAN PERFORM. • THE QUALITY OF YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE EQUAL TO THE EFFORT YOU PUT INTO IT

  15. GROUPS • READ THE RESPONSIBILITIES ON HAIKU • DECIDE WHAT JOB YOU WANT TO DO • PROPOSE YOUR GROUPS TO ME BY EMAIL! • I WILL DECIDE WHICH GROUPS ARE ACCEPTED • SOME GROUPS MIGHT NEED TO CHANGE A FEW MEMBERS IN THE GROUP. • WE WILL START PRACTICE ON MONDAY
