  1. Giving Your Children an Eternal Inheritance Part 2 (Teen years) By MiXue

  2. “Children are a gift of God”

  3. Can we prepare the soil?

  4. Can soil be more receptive?

  5. 1. Soil by the road side

  6. What could make this soil more penetrable?

  7. Hard soil needs breaking up

  8. A believing parent sets the family apart for God “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.” 1 Cor 7:14

  9. YOU are a window for God

  10. Incarnational Life However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Goddwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ isin you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.Rom 8:9-11

  11. Hard soil needs help

  12. How can the Word penetrate a child’s life? For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Heb 4:12)

  13. “But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children. Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.” 1 Th 2:7-8

  14. ParentalExamples make deep roots

  15. 2. Soil on rocky places

  16. No firm root to withstand: Trials Persecution

  17. Trials perfect us Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

  18. Hard work keeps us fit

  19. Trials build character And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the loveof God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Rom 5:3-5

  20. Persecution reveals ourHOPE

  21. Expect Persecution "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when peopleinsult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. • Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”Matt 5:10-12 “Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” • 2 Tim 3:12

  22. What do you FEAR more? Trials and hardships? Persecution by MAN? Or GOD?

  23. Who should you fear? "But I will warn you whom to fear: fearthe One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Luke 12:5-7

  24. Whose are you? What then shall we say to these things? If God isfor us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Rom 8:31-34

  25. The Unfailing love of Christ Who will separate us fromthe love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:35-39

  26. Vaccination

  27. 3. Soil with thorns

  28. Worries of the World "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matt 6:31-33

  29. Bring worries to God Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and yourminds in Christ Jesus. • Philippians 4:6-7

  30. Teach your child to pray

  31. Deceitfulness of wealth Then He said to them, "Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions." Lk 12:15

  32. What’s so dangerous about Greed? Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. Col 3:5

  33. What is the purpose of wealth? • Do we possess it or does it possess us? • Do we use people to gain money or do we use money to gain people? • Why does God give us wealth?

  34. Weeds: Pull them out!

  35. How do we teach our child stewardship? • Do not over-emphasize possessions • Engage with the less fortunate • Practice generosity with your resources

  36. What do you DESIRE more? Fortune? Fame? Power? Or God?

  37. Weed Killer

  38. Our Ambition Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (2Cor 5:9-10) For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.”(2Cor 5:14-15)

  39. An Undivided Heart Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Ps 73:25-26

  40. 4. Good soil

  41. Hears the Word What is a “good and honest heart”? For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Tim 4:3-4
