  13. FIRST:What Happened to TheYoungChildSamuel?

  14. LET’S LET THE BIBLE TELL THE STORY… 1 Samuel 3:1-181 And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. 2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

  15. 1 Samuel 3:1-183 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; 4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

  16. 1 Samuel 3:1-186 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

  17. 1 Samuel 3:1-188 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

  18. 1 Samuel 3:1-1810 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. 11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

  19. 1 Samuel 3:1-1812 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. 13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

  20. 1 Samuel 3:1-1814 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever. 15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.

  21. 1 Samuel 3:1-1816 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I. 17 And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

  22. 1 Samuel 3:1-1818 And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

  23. SAMUEL GREW & BECAME A YOUNG PROPHET 1 Samuel 3:19-2119 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

  24. SAMUEL GREW & BECAME A YOUNG PROPHET 1 Samuel 3:19-2121 And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

  25. God Especially Loves Children… Matthew 18:1-61 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them

  26. God Especially Loves Children… Matthew 18:1-63 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

  27. God Especially Loves Children… Matthew 18:1-64 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

  28. God Especially Loves Children… Matthew 18:1-66 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

  29. God Uses Children For His Glory… 1 Samuel 16:1And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

  30. God Uses Children For His Glory… 1 Samuel 16:7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

  31. God Uses Children For His Glory… 1 Samuel 16:10-1210 Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.

  32. God Uses Children For His Glory… 1 Samuel 16:10-1211 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

  33. God Uses Children For His Glory… 1 Samuel 16:10-1212 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

  34. SECOND:WhatHappenedTo TheArk OfThe Covenant?

  35. THE PHILISTINES TOOK IT! 1 Samuel 5:1And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

  36. The Philistines Humiliated The Israelites In Battle And Now They Would Attempt To Humiliate “Jehovah” The GodOf Abraham, Isaac And Jacob

  37. 1 Samuel 5:2When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

  38. WHO WAS DAGON? • A False god Of The Philistines • Dag Means “Fish” • The Image Of Dagon Was A Fish With A Human Head & Hands • The Philistines Wealth And Power Came From The Sea And Fishing – This Was Their god

  39. This Humiliation Was A Payback Because Of The 3000 That Were Slain At The Dagon Temple In Gaza, By Samson

  40. Judges 16:28-3028 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

  41. Judges 16:28-3030 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

  42. GOD IS NOT GOING TO BE HUMILIATED!

  43. We Are To Humiliate Ourselves (Be Humble) Before Him, Not Visa Versa! 1 Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

  44. Look At What Happens... 1 Samuel 5:3And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. The Image Of Dagon Falls Over On It’s Face!

  45. 1 Samuel 5:4And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
