  7. faintest: lightest, hardest to hear The baby chick’s cheeps were the faintest sounds of all the noises in the barnyard.

  8. deeds: actions The hero was rewarded for all of his past good deeds.

  9. compliment : nice thing to say Tanya’s mother thanked Tanya for the compliment after Tanya said, “That’s a nice dress , Mom.”

  10. darted : moved quickly The quick hummingbird darted around the leaves of the honeysuckle bush.
