Details of Salix energy efficiency projects • Technologies - • Roof, loft & pipe insulation • Window draught proofing • Solar window film • Boiler controls - separate & BEMS • Boiler replacement • Ventilation heat reclaim • Motor controls – Savawatt & Variable speed drives • LED lights – flood lights & halogen spot replacement (Gateway) • Total of £999,308 committed so far

  6. Awareness Example - Library Energy • Total Utility cost is • Elec = £198,600 pa • Gas = £ 50,100 pa • Water = £20,900 pa • Total = £269,600 pa • University spend = £5,300,000 pa (5%)

  7. Details of Salix projects • Library - what have we done? • Variable speed drives on ventilation fans • Motor controls on chiller plant • Replacement lights (Nov 08) • Savings so far = 7% electricity or £13,000 pa
