  2. DOPING • The history of Doping begins in antiquity at the time of the first Olympic Games in Classical Greece. The substances used for Doping are linked to the development of chemistry and medical science synthesis. • There are several origins of the word doping one of these is the Lemma "dop" alcoholic beverage used as a stimulant in the dances of the eighteenth century in South Africa.

  3. DOPING: is the use or abuse of substances or medicinal products with the aim of artificially increase the physical performance. The use of doping is an infringement in sport, and to the medical science.

  4. DOPING SUBSTANCES AND MEDICINES ARE DRUGS. AN ATHLETE IS NOT SICK SO HE CAN NOT BENEFIT FROM THOSE. EXAMPLES OF SUBSTANCES DOPING THE AMPHETAMINES: are psycho-stimulants thatreduce the sense of fatigue. WHY ARE THEY DANGEROUS? Fatigue warn us when our forces are running out. The AMPHETAMINES do not make this happen and send our body to its limits. WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS? They give a lot of heart problems until you get to convulsions, coma and death. clinical studies have shown that they have a component of toxicity that leads to permanent neurological damage.

  5. OTHER EXAMPLES OF SUBSTANCES DOPING ANABOLIC: are substances which increase protein synthesis by increasing the mass and muscle strength. WHY ARE THEY HARMFUL? They lead to many health risks without "results" found in all athletes. WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS? Also here they are a lot. Under 20 years lead to premature growth arrest. In humans causes infertility in women and appearance of typically masculine traits.

  6. EPO (ERYTHROPOIETIN): improves the ability of the blood to carry oxygen necessary to obtain more energy for muscle performance and for increase fatigue resistance. WHY are they HARMFUL? The epo causes the blood viscosity increase and consequently the risk of thrombotic events, stroke and heart attack. WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS? They are headache, joint pain, high blood pressure and seizures. Athletes who inject high doses of iron are at risk of severe iron overload

  7. THESE ARE TWO EXAMPLES OF HOW TO RISK HIS LIFE FOR IMPROVEMENT TEMPORARY, BUT THE DOPING SUBSTANCES CURRENTLY IN USE ARE A LOT AND ALL OF THEM CREATE DEPENDENCE. The realquestionis: IF THESE SUBSTANCES HURT WHY 'HAVE BEEN PRODUCED? Many substances are used by doctors to treat patients suffering from particular diseases. Amphetamines were used for example to treat narcolepsy, the hyperkinetic syndrome child and as anorectic substance.

  8. DOPING: A "SHORTCUT"? WHAT GUIDE THE HUMAN TO USE SUBSTANCES DOPING? • The above others • Do not accept the idea that only with the commitment and sacrifice we can achieve certain goals. • Lack of self-confidence • I suspect that opponents use performance-enhancing drugs • The feeling that these substances are able to improve their efficiency Excessive expectations and environmental pressures

  9. DOPING OF STATE IN THE EASTERN COUNTRIES WHAT 'DOPING OF STATE? Since achieving brilliant results in international competitions increased the international prestige of the states in 1970 the National Institute for Sport with the authorization of East Germany began a dependent doping program of its athletes (most twelve year olds). WHAT WERE THE CONSEQUENCES? momentarily very victorious consequences in five Olimpics. We are talking about 500-2000 former athletes who now suffer from: liver tumors, heart and gynecological problems, breast cancer and testicular cancer, infertility, depression.

  10. THE TRAGIC EVENT OF HEIDI KRIEGER when the ex Former European shot champion was 16 was forced to take pills telling her that steroids were proteins. They drugged her as an adult. Heidi won and felt important in the sport, but only there and not for a long time. She ruined her back, hips and knees, which obliterated every trace of femininity, she was forced to become Mr. Andreas Krieger. HOW WERE THEY REPAID ATHLETES FROM DAMAGE? The damage of the athletes were now irreversible, the German Government give a compensation of up to $ 12,500 per person, for the doping victims. What is certain is that money does not gave back the health to athletes.

  11. The first victim of doping His name was Tom Simpson, he was only 30 when on the 13 July 1967during a stage of the Tour de France he died of cardiac arrest. The autopsy noted that he had made use of amphetamines. After him, many have not learned their lesson and have continued to make use of doping. And unfortunately, many others have died or have suffered and are suffering from serious physical problems.

  12. THE END.
