Segmentation according to the answers to the personal orientation questions • 94% of the respondents said that their religious identity is very central in their overall identity. • 43% of the respondents said that they look to another religious tradition for inspiration.
Personal orientation • 80% of the respondents said that they trust their local religious leader. • Preserving the tradition was considered the most important role for local religious leader (79%). n=773
Most Important Skills • Inspired teacher (90%) ranks as the most important skill required for a local religious leader followed by role model (89%) and spiritual mentor (89%) n=773
Least Important Skills • Fundraiser (42%) ranks as the least important skill required for a local religious leader followed by technological presence (41%) and cultural critic (24%) n=773
Most Important Qualities • Inspired teacher (97%), wisdom (97%) and compassion (97%) rank as the most important qualities required for a local religious leader followed by honesty (95%) and love (94%) n=773
Services of Local Religious Leaders • 86% of the respondents consider peace work to be appropriate for a religious leader whereas only 39%consider political life to be appropriate. n=773
Assessment of Local Religious Leaders • 79% of the respondents stated that adequate training is required for their local religious leader and 80% said that local religious leader measured high on the respondent’s criteria. n=773
