  3. Objectives • Show that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram

  4. Theorems 6.6 and 6.7 • Theorem 6.6 If both pairs of opposite sides of a quadrilateral are congruent, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram • Theorem 6.7 If both pairs of opposite angles of a quadrilateral are congruent, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram

  5. Theorem 6.8 • Theorem 6.8 If an angle of quadrilateral is supplementary to both of its consecutive angles, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram

  6. Theorem 6.9 • Theorem 6.9 If the diagonals of a quadrilateral bisect each other, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram.

  7. Work it • Solve for x and y so that the figure is a parallelogram

  8. Classwork/Homework • Pg 320 #s 1-20, 28-34 all
