  1. Renaissance Art Analysis Students will view the art and make a guess on which period it comes from. Students will write a sentence explaining why they believe it is from that time period. Students will write down the title, artist and year after view the work.

  2. 1st Example Title: Discobolus Artist: Myron Year: 450 B.C. The figure is presented at a point of perfect balance. His pose is calm, body is strong, he is neither ordinary man or a god.

  3. 2nd Example Title: Narthex Tympanum Artist: Myron Year: 1120 CE The sculpture fits a arching space over a door. The figure in the middle is Jesus and he is larger than the other figures and he is in the center.

  5. 3rd Example Title: The School of Athens Artist: Raphael Year: 1510 CE The painting shows the great thinkers of ancient Greece. Each figure gestures and look like they’re actively moving.
