Data Team StructureYear 1 • 50 minute weekly grade level meetings (Tuesdays during common prep) • 60 minute weekly PD for whole staff (Wednesday) • 45 minute weekly DRT/Leadership team meeting (Thursday) • Non-fiction writing in all core areas • Assigned data team leaders • District data team note template • Research based strategies TIME STRUCTURE BUILDING FOCUS

Our Journey • Principal went to 90/90/90 Summit in May 2010 • DRT completed a book study: • Accountability in Action by Doug Reeves Summer 2010 • Lead and Learn Training September 2010 • DRT began to train staff in the data team process in October 2010 • Building wide writing assessment (3 times a year)

  11. Challenges • Teachers found it difficult to… • Embed writing in all content areas • Make connections with non-fiction and their content areas • Teach writing without a specific district-wide writing program • Come to consensus on which standard to focus on
