  2. What is the LCVP • Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) is not the LCA (Leaving Cert Applied) • LCVP is the traditional Leaving Cert PLUS an additional subject called the LCVP Link Modules • Therefore it is a programme designed for all abilities

  3. LCVP Numbers Year Leaving Cert Students 2018 57,149 Year LCVP Students 2018 13,638 Nationally, about 24% of Leaving Certificate students study the LCVP

  4. LCVP in Dominican College In 2017 Dominican College had LCVP students for the first time. We were really pleased with the results of our first LCVP students which were well above the national averages.

IT) • Motivation to Learn • Communication • Initiative & Enterprise • Team Working • Critical Thinking • Flexibility • Leadership Theseskills are equally relevant to young people progressing to further study, working for themselves or going directly into employment

  10. LCVP Assessment • The Link Modules are assessed by written examination (40%) and portfolio (60%).

  11. PORTFOLIO (60%) CORE ITEMS: • Curriculum Vitae • Career Investigation • Summary Report • Enterprise/Action Plan

  12. LCVP PORTFOLIO OPTIONAL ITEMS: Two out of Four Options • Diary of Work Experience • Enterprise Report • Report on ‘My Own Place’ • Recorded Interview/Presentation

  13. TERMINAL EXAM (40%) End of Final Year of LCVP • Section A: Audio-Visual Presentation • Section B: Case Study (Received in advance by students) • Section C: 4 General Questions • There are LCVP Christmas, Summer and Mock Exams like other Leaving Cert subjects.

  14. LCVP RECOGNITION • Entry to Universities and Institutes of Technology • Link Modules is a qualifying subject for CAO points

  15. LCVP LINK MODULES RESULTS Distinction 80% - 100% Merit 65% - 79% Pass 50% - 64%
