  2. Changes in Web Design Industry • In recent few years, the standards and practices in web designing have changed a lot. • As the web is expanding and more and more devices are offering internet services, it has become essential for all the web designers to get equipped with latest techniques and standards being used in Modern Web Designs to keep up with the pace of technology.

  3. In 2012, There Are Many New Standards That Have Emerged; Following Are Few Of Them:

  4. Tips for a Better Web Design (contd..) • No Room for mistakes: Make sure that the content of the website is grammatically correct and has absolutely no spelling mistake. • No More Long pages: If your pages are excessively long, you need to change them now. The long pages trend is now over and users now like websites with no vertical scrolling. • Avoid Harsh Colors: Avoid using harsh contrast in your website designs. They looked and felt good in the early days of the Internet, but not anymore.

  5. Tips for a Better Web Design (contd..) • Visible Links: Your links should be identifiable with different color or size. • Multiple Intro Pages: Avoid having multiple intro pages in your website, as it will annoy the users if they have to take multiple steps to reach their destination. • Make it simple: Now, simple websites are considered more attractive and professional than a fancy and ultra graphical website.

  6. Tips for a Better Web Design (contd..) • Call to Action: Include your call to action on each page of your website. It could be your contact information or a button to check out. If a customer has to search for an action button, he/she would most probably leave. • No Background Audio: If you have been playing background audio on your website, you need to stop doing it now. There is nothing more annoying than this. • New Tab: Do not link to inner (or external) links in a way that they open new tabs to show the page. Give this control to the user, and let them use the “Back” button on the browser.

  7. Tips for a Better Web Design (contd..) • Grab the attention: You have very few seconds to grasp the attention of a website visitor. Make sure that your design is capable of attracting visitor`s attention on the first page they visit. • Font size: Do not use ultra large or very small font size. Your font must be decent in size so that users can read the text without much effort and without getting annoyed. • No More Flash: Flash on websites, is outdated. You should seriously think of modern ways to attract users rather than using flash.
