  2. Introduction • Jesus enters a synagogue on Sabbath and heals a man • Followed by more healings

  3. Biblical Points • Why in a synagogue? • Was healing a person on the Sabbath permitted? • Who were the Herodians? • Why is Tyre and Sidon mentioned? • Why was Idumea mentioned? • Why a boat? • What was an “unclean spirit?”

  4. For Us Today • What was Jesus doing? (Civil disobedience) • What were Jesus’ opponents trying to do? (Silence him) • Why is Christianity being silenced? • We are the voices of Jesus • We cannot allow this silencing to continue • What can we do about it?
