Today’s interpretation of the narrative is based on an incorrect translation • שָׂטָן • This word meant “to mislead, miss the mark, slip, slide, or to deviate from one’s course” • Today in modern Hebrew it means Satan also. • Peter was trying to change Jesus’ path to our salvation without realizing it Mistranslation
