  1. SRS Parent Training Registration for Rising 6th Graders

  2. Login Procedures • Access the Internet • Go to the District or School Website • Click on the Student Portal Icon-type in your e-mail and password. The password is the birth date. If you do not have the e-mail address, contact the teacher or counselor. • Find the SRS link. To login in, type in your perm number and birth date. If you do not know your perm number contact the school counselor. It is also on your report card. Make sure that the “day” of your birth date is typed as 2 digits. (ex.9/05/94)

  3. Next • When you log in, you will immediately see a small box appear. It will tell you the number of related arts and alternatives your next school allows. For more details you can click on the HELP tab. • Teachers will have already assigned Math and English courses and Science and Social Studies are mass assigned.

  4. Adding a Course Request • Click on the down arrow in the “Select a Course” field. • Select Alternative or Elective. The yellow bar will tell the student how many Electives and Alternates the student is to select. • Click the yellow Add Course button. A message will appear in green stating that the course has been added. If it not added, the reason will appear in brown beneath the yellow bar.

  5. Deleting a Course Request • As a student, you can delete courses tagged with an S (student) and/or any courses you selected as Alternatives. • Click on the trash can to the left of the course you need to delete. A message will appear asking you to confirm. Click OK.

  6. Important Notes • The teacher window is from Feb 15-March 3. • Math and ELA placement is based on test scores. Students must be identified as GTA (Gifted and Talented) to be placed in English G/T 6. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions regarding placement. • The Parent/Student window opens March 4 and ends on March 19. Student registration can take place at home or if you do not have computer access, a computer will be provided in the media center for your use starting March 4.
