  1. *Revisions made on 15 October indicated in red font in the presentation.2003-2008: Five years of spectacular soccer and more to come!www.southsideufc.org Southside United F. C. Fall/Winter 2008-2009 Season Information

  2. Times & Dates: First game scheduled for Saturday 8 November 2008. Game days are scheduled for 8, 15 and 22 of November; 13 and 20 December (all Saturdays). The complex will be closed until 28 February at which time there are four games scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays. Game times: At this time game start times are 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. There are provisions for reverting to the 10am, noon and 2pm schedule to which we had been previously accustomed – to be announced soon. Most games will be on Saturday with occasional Sunday games if needed due to weather issues. There are no provisions for games to be held during the weekdays. The master schedule for the league shall be forthcoming (hopefully at least a week before the first game). The master schedule (for field use) at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex is located at http://soccercomplex.org/schedule.html

  3. Player Fees: • $80.00 per player. • (Until the league raises the fee again at the last minute like last season). • Due 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the first scheduled game. • Cash, personal check, money order or Pay Pal invoice are all acceptable forms of payment.

  4. Roster: • Roster status is continually updated via periodic e-mail to the team at large…also… • The roster is available on the “Roster & Player Pages” section of the team site. This is updated at least three times a week and more often as necessary. • Saturday 15 November is the last day to make changes to the roster. No changes after this date for any reason.

  5. Identification& Player Passes: • At all games, remember to bring some sort of picture identification. Officials may or may not be checking – we never know. • The league claims they are going to be more vigilant about “requiring” player passes this season and they “really mean it this season” (again, as usual)…therefore… • If you need a new or replacement pass, please notify Marshall of this as soon as possible so that he may (attempt) to obtain these from the league administration (whenever and if ever). • If you presently have a pass and it expires on or before 15 March 2009, notify Marshall as well.

  6. Miscellaneous: • Due to HRSC schedule constraints, the SML Cup system which we played during the summer will not be operating this season, therefore we are back to the usual number of games. • Always review the team site www.southsideufc.org for announcements and updates, this site is updated regularly (at least several times a week) prior to and during the season especially. • Attire includes black shorts and socks, if you did not purchase your jersey, it needs to be returned at the conclusion of the season. • Always call the HRSC Hotline 518-5176 before leaving whenever the weather is the least bit questionable prior to a game. • It is very possible that we will participate in at least one indoor season at the dome of Catholic High School. More information will be provided on this as the time approaches – note, this is no longer administered by Mr. Nweke, rather by the Virginia Rush. • There are a total of 28 teams overall this season – 8 Premier, 8 Division 1 and 12 Division 2, of which 10 are returning from the summer some under different names. • DC Deviants, Boca Seniors and Crosscurrent F. C. – all teams against whom we did not experience a win previously will be competing in Division 1 this winter.

  7. Hopefully you get the point of this one that is, what we are going to do (figuratively speaking) to the competition. The SUFC legacy continues! This has been a Walter Marshall Production – obviously.
