2. FACCIAMO L'OLIO A SCUOLA! LET'S MAKE THE OIL AT SCHOOL!

3. FACCIAMO L'OLIO A SCUOLA! Venerdì 14 dicembre abbiamo fatto l’olio.Per prima cosa abbiamo lavato le olive,poi le abbiamo snocciolate con lo snocciolatore.Con il frullatore abbiamo frullato le olive già snocciolate, poi abbiamo preso dei sacchetti di iuta, con dentro la pasta di olive ottenuta, e li abbiamo messi in un torchietto per separare la sansa dai liquidi.La sansa è rimasta nei sacchetti e i liquidi sono stati messi a decantare.

4. LET'S MAKE THE OIL AT SCHOOL! On Friday 14th December we made the oil at school. As first thing we washed the olives, then we left the olive stones using a provided tool. With a blender we blended the olives already without olive stones , then we took some little jute bags , with the obtained olive paste inside, and we put them in a press to decant the husk from the liquids. The husk remained in the bags and the liquid were kept to decant.

5. La nostra“estrazione dell’olio” comincia: si svuotano i sacchetti delle olive nella vasca di lavaggio.Our “oil extraction” starts:we empty the olives bags in the wash basin.

6. Si versa l’acqua nella vaschetta…We pour on water in the wash basin …

7. … ed inizia il lavaggio e la pulitura.… and the washing and cleaning start.

8. Non avendo la possibilità di frantumare i noccioli si è deciso di denocciolare le olive. Si comincia! As we haven’t the possibility to crush the olive-stones, we decide to leave them. We start!

9. Si è deciso di utilizzare dei denocciolatori da cucina. Ognuno usa il suo.We decided to use some kitchen tools to leave olive-stones. Everyone uses his own.

10. Ecco il nostro denocciolatore, sostituisce la mola.Here’s our tool to leave olive-stones, it supplies the mill-stone.

11. La squadra al completo è al lavoro.The complete team is at work.

13. Ecco delle olive denocciolate!Here are some olives without stones!

14. Il gruppo frangitore si prepara.The press group gets ready.

15. Con un frullatore,al posto della pressa e della gramolatrice,ci si prepara a trasformare in poltiglia le olive denocciolate.With a blender,instead of the press and the gramolatrice,we get ready to turn in paste the olives without stones.

16. IL FRULLATORE FUNZIONA…THE BLENDER WORKS…

17. … LE OLIVE SONO STATE RIDOTTE IN PASTA.…THE OLIVES HAVE BEEN TURNED IN PASTE.

18. L’OPERATORE E’ CAMBIATO,MA IL LAVORO CONTINUATHE OPERATOR IS CHANGED,BUT THE WORK CONTINUES.

19. QUALCHE NOCCIOLO È FINITO NELLA PASTA EVA ELIMINATO.SOME STONES GOT TO THE PASTE AND IT MUST BE ELIMINATE

20. Le operazioni continuano meticolosamente…the operations go on meticulously…

21. Dobbiamo togliere tutti i noccioli rimasti…we have to leave all the left stones…

22. …e ci sporchiamo anche le mani.…. and we also get dirtyour hands.

23. Adesso dobbiamo versare la pasta di olive in un sacchetto di stoffa che sostituirà i fiscoli o i diagrammi, ma, prima, lo bagniamo per farlo funzionare meglio.Now we have to put the olive paste into a little cloth bag thatwill supply the”fiscoli” or diaphragms, but, before all, wewet it to let it work well.

Il sacchetto pieno di pasta va pressato con un torchietto, al posto della pressa idraulica, per far uscire l’olio.La squadra pressatori si prepara.The little bag full of paste must be pressed with a little press, instead of the hydraulic press, to let the oil overflow.The press team gets ready.

27. Il sacchetto non funziona bene: le maglie troppo fitte non fanno passare il liquido, perciò, oltre alla pressa, usiamo anche le mani.The little bag doesn’t work well: the too tight stitches don’t let the liquid filter, so we also use our hands.

28. SI SVUOTA IL SACCHETTO,”FISCOLO”, DELLA SANSA.WE EMPTY THE LITTLE BAG,”FISCOLO,” OF THE HUSK .

29. DECIDIAMO DI USARNE UNO NUOVO, FATTO CON UNA STOFFA A MAGLIE PIÙ LARGHE, E LO PREPARIAMO.WE DECIDE TO USE A NEW ONE, MADE BY A LARGER STITCHES CLOTH, AND WE PREPARE IT.

30. RIEMPIAMO IL NUOVO “FISCOLO” CON LA PASTA…WE FILL THE NEW “DIAPHRAGMS” WITH THE PASTE…

32. IL LAVORO CONTINUA CON QUALCHE SCHIZZATINA. THE WORK GOES ON WITH SOME LITTLE SQUIRTING.

33. DOPO LA TORCHIATURA TOGLIAMO LA SANSA DAI “FISCOLI”.AFTER THE PRESSING WE LEAVE THE HUSK FROM THE “DIAPHRAGMS”.

34. ECCO LA SANSA PRIVA DI OLIO! HERE’S THE HUSK WITHOUT OIL!

35. L’OLIO MISTO AD ACQUA E AD ALTRE IMPURITÀÈ MOLTO DENSO,PER SEPARARLO AVREMMO BISOGNO DI UNA CENTRIFUGA, MA NON AVENDO ALTRI MEZZI, LO METTIAMO A DECANTARE IN UN CONTENITORE DI VETRO. THE OIL MIXED TO WATER AND TO OTHER IMPURITIES IS VERY THICK, TO SEPARATE IT WE WOULD NEED A CENTRIFUGE, BUT NOT HAVING OTHER TOOLS, WE PUT IT TO DECANT IN A GLASSED CONTAINER .

36. Il nostro lavoro è finito,dobbiamo pulire l’aula.Our work is finished,we have to clean the classroom.

37. …e tutti gli attrezzi usati……and all the tools we used…

38. Le vaschette unte vanno sgrassate bene con un detergente apposito.The oily containers must be cleaned well with a provided detergent.

39. Ora tutto è pulito,non resta che aspettare che l’olio sia pronto!Now everything is clean,we have only to wait the oil be ready!
