  2. What Is Duolingo? • Duolingo is an application that teaches languages through interactive games • Users download the free app to their electronic device • Users advance through foreign language courses by gaining points • Duolingo has been proven to teach foreign languages effectively.

  4. How Does DuolingoWork? • The app uses crowdsourcing to create new language courses • Websites pay duolingo to have their content translated • The app is free because users actively translate website content (such as articles from Buzzfeed and CNN) as they learn a language on duolingo
