  4. WHO AM I? This is my eighth year teaching, and my first year teaching eighth grade. I have taught Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies and Academic Plus. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters. My step-daughter, Jessica, goes to ECC and works at BEEP. Tyler is in 7th grade at OKH. Nelson is four and Elizabeth is three. I have been married for 6 years.

  5. TRUE OR FALSE??? I used to intern at WAVE 3. My favorite drink is Pepsi. 3. I am a student at UK. 4. I have been to 4 different colleges. 5. My favorite sports team is UK. 6. I went to the Nelson County fair this summer. 7. I believe Tom Brady is the best looking man alive. 8. I enjoy reading, shopping, and getting on Facebook. 9. I have been to Japan.

  11. 2 Procedures What to do, when, where, and how!

  12. 1. By the time the bell rings, you should be in your seat working on the Do Now’s (required) and Extra Credit Corner if you wish. 2. We will clean up the room before we leave. This is not a basketball court! 3. Late? You better have a note! 4. Cheating? OH NO! DETENTION, PHONE CALL HOME, ZERO, NO MAKE-UPS! 5. You leave when I dismiss you, NOT when the bell rings! 6. Do NOT get out of your seat without permission. Sharpen pencils before class, throw trash away at the end…If in doubt, raise your hand and ASK! 7. Gum and food are NOT allowed! 8. If I am on the phone or a visitor comes in, you are to remain quiet and wait for Directions. Procedures

  13. 9. If you are absent, you will need ask me for any work at the end of class. 10. You will turn all work in to the tray for your class. Do NOT put anything on the desk or leave anything in the room! 11. In case of an emergency, remain calm and follow directions. Questions?????? Procedures

  14. Things to Know! Do Now’s: You will not have bell work, but you will have do now’s daily. Whatever is written on the board is what you should be working on when the bell rings. Consistently not working on the do now’s will result in a refusal to work write-up. Extra Credit Corner: In the corner of the board, the first day of the week, you will have the opportunity for extra credit. It will be due on Friday! No exceptions.

GRADING TESTS= 65 % of your grade* *Can earn a soft drink for earning a 4 on all targets* TESTS ONLY QUIZZES= 15% of your grade HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK= 10% of your grade ACCELERATED READER= 10% of your grade 4= MASTER 100% 3= YAY! 80% (CAN CHOOSE TO REDO) 2= GETTING THERE 60% (MUST REDO) 1= NOT MASTERED40% (MUST REDO) 0= INCOMPLETE 0% (MUST REDO)
