Topic overview Topic 1: Planning Objectives: • Define planning and what it is all about • Identify and recognize different theories and steps in planning • Formulate a vision and a strategy for a particular period of time • Evaluate the prevailing conditions in their respective localities/departments

  3. Topic overview Topic 2: Development Planning and Mgt Objectives: 1. Define and explain development planning and management 2. Distinguish and identify different theories of development 3. Construct and design a development plan for their respective departments 4. Evaluate and measure the priorities of the people in their respective areas of concern

  4. Topic overview Topic 3: Goal Oriented Project Planning (GOPP) 1. Discuss and explain a goal oriented project planning 2. Identify and evaluate problems that affect the overall development of their respective locality 3. Provide solutions and alternatives to the said problems 4. Construct and design a vision, goal, and objectives for their respective locality 5. Draft their respective goal oriented planning projects

Topic overview Topic 4: Guidelines for becoming a successful and effective planner • Identify and analyze the steps of how to become a successful and effective planner • Recognize their strengths and weaknesses • Apply the steps of how to become a successful and effective planner to their respective offices or departments

  6. Requirements • 4 activity sheets (individual) Topic 1 = 1 Activity Topic 2 = 0 Activity Topic 3 = 3 Activities Topic 4 = 0 Activities • Group paper

  7. Requirements • Group paper • Members should belong to the same department/office • Assess/evaluate 2 programs/projects of your department that you feel was SUCCESSFUL and FAILURE

  8. Requirements • Group paper • Format: 1. min of 10 pages, maximum of 12 2. English, times new roman 12 font all throughout 3. 1 inch margin on all sides 4. Single space except between paragraphs 5. Put names of members on last separate page (not included in the min/max pages)

  10. Requirements • Group paper :Flow • Choose 1 Successful/Failed Project • Briefly describe the project. What is it all about? • Assess the project using the concepts in class. Why do you consider it as a failure/success, based on Strategic planning and other variables (Dale, 2004). Fill-out the diagrams but append (not included in the counting)

  11. Requirements 3. As a group, how would you plan for this project to improve it? Use GOPP but focus especially on Phase II (1-4). You may enumerate when necessary 4. Reflect on your experiences. 1 paragraph (minimum of 15 sentences per member) each. This maybe in Filipino. Submit on Sept. 29, 2011 Thursday
