  5. QoS Service Element • Resides in Application Plane (Either part of Media Control or closely associated with - to be defined) • Negociates QoS Class with user • May negociate QoS budgets with peers in other domains • Negociates required QoS parameters with MC in its own domain either for its own domain or for multiple domains • Provide authorization to terminals of permitted QoS class. • Inform QoS Policy Enforcement elements of media permitted QoS level.

  6. Resource Manager(RM) • Resides in Transport Plane • Has a 1:1 Relationship with QoS Service Element in Application Plane • Negociates required QoS parameters with its corresponding Service Element. • Guarantees bandwidth allocation, packet loss, end to end delay and delay jitter within its own domain. • Must be capable of negotiating QoS parameters with its peers in other network domains but may also operate on basis of SLAs • Provides feedback to the QoS Service Element on QoS achieved.

  7. QoS Policy Enforcement Element QoS Policy Enforcement Elements • Communicates with the QoS Element on the Class of Service authorised for the Media. • Polices the media streams for conformity to authorized QoS profile.
