  3. Training This presentation is only a brief overview of COMPASS. Prior to administering COMPASS all BACs must complete COMPASS training. For new COMPASS Administrators: View the following (these will be available on the Testing Unit website): Introduction to COMPASS On Demand Training Series Administering COMPASS On Demand COMPASS Additional Resources COMPASS Correcting Student Information COMPASS Customized List Reports COMPASS Individual Student Report COMPASS Individual Student Reports Over 90 Days Updated Final COMPASS Guide. For experienced COMPASS Administrators: COMPASS Update Training (will be available on the Testing Unit website)

KDE COMPASS Eligibility • Current high school Seniors that did not meet the CPE Benchmarks on the ACT in one or more areas: • Writing Skills (English) – 18 • Mathematics – 19 • Reading – 20 • Students that have completed an intervention in English, Reading and/or Mathematics. • Students may test a second time, if: • A second intervention has been completed, and • It has been longer than 5 days from the first test.

Heightened Protocols Students may only test TWICE with a 5-day break between administrations • First Offense • Written Warning to DAC (DAC will send to the school) • Second Offense • Testing System Turned Off for School • Appropriate Practice/Use Form Completed and returned to KDE before system reactivated • Third Offense • Testing allegation • Removal of proctor(s) from COMPASS® system
