  1. Recognizing Quality Marijuana Seeds Getting great marijuana plants always starts with the quality of seeds have invested in and planted. Also, the quality of seeds depends on the genetics embedded in it. When starting out a marijuana farm of a few plants or more, you need to do a lot of research on the marijuana seeds available, strains, and the qualities they possess. You do not need to take chances as you will be reaping the benefits of your informed choices for months to come.

  2. The bottom line is to get great seeds that would end up giving you quality marijuana plants; if you fail this simple task, you might be reaping little or nothing and you will have wasted efforts in your hands. The first thing to do in this process is to get a good seed company, a reputable one. You might ask, why don’t I just extract the seeds from commercially sold bags of marijuana? Well, this is the easiest way to get seeds, but be warned this method won’t give you the best seeds; they have been processed, cured and packaged. Most times they have been manhandled and bagged in vacuum bags, killing all the good properties they have to yield great plants. What are the qualities of good marijuana seeds It is a very difficult task getting marijuana seeds as moist cultivators only plant marijuana for its leaves. This makes them harvest the plants way before the seeds are mature to give quality plants. So getting seeds from marijuana cultivators who cultivate marijuana other than its seeds is a very bad idea. You also need to know if your seeds have been frozen before you purchased them. If they were, the tendencies viability of plants is very low. Without being frozen, a moderate stalk with good strains has a strout rate of 30%. This simply means that only one seed sprouts in three seeds.

  3. There are different reasons that seeds don’t sprout and these include: Damaged husks: This occurs during harvesting. If the seeds are manhandled, the result could be damaged husks, leading to dead seeds. Immature seeds: as earlier mentioned, if the seeds are picked way before they mature, don’t have enough genetic information to sprout when planted. Damaged seeds due to extreme weather: some seeds hibernate when faced with extreme weather conditions. This is not so for marijuana seeds, they simply die off. So if you end up purchasing seeds kept in extreme climes, you have virtually nothing in your hands. Aged seeds: Marijuana seeds don’t get better with age like wine. The older they are, they less viable, they become. Making sprouting unlikely. There are features you need to look out for when accessing the seeds you want to purchase. You need to know what a matured seed looks like. They have a brown color and look marbled with lighter shades or stripes impressed on the seeds. It is best to avoid seeds that have a different color, especially if they are gray or white in color, this indicates immaturity. The seeds you select should be bigger in size, well rounded, they should yield you good, healthy plants.

  4. Finding the best seeds Marijuana seeds are usually sandwiched between the stem and plant matter of a female plant. They are always found beneath the bud, making them very difficult to see and are well protected by the cushions of plant materials that covers them. Experienced growers tend to grow male and female plants to ensure pollination occurs naturally, hence, enhancing seed production. Young marijuana seeds are protected by a white cellulose covering which dies off as the seeds mature. To remove the seeds from the plant, it is necessary to be gentle, nudge them slightly and they will fall off if fully mature, else they get damaged if treated differently. Buying seeds When buying seeds, you need to keep your fingers crossed as you have no idea what the strains and genetic makeup of the seeds are by just looking at them. You can only rely on the information fed to you by the seller. This is the main reason you need to buy your seeds from reputable sources to avoid having a disaster in your hands. When buying seeds, get a company with good client support to help guide you through the whole process of planting and grooming your plants.
