Design and mobilize competent, comprehensive and acute disaster response system with mental health integration 3. Secure community recovery and rehabilitation

  2. Yellow Group: Strategies for disaster mental health response 1. Build grass roots movement including focus on peers and utilize Gulf coast experiences as a lever 2. Develop and use incremental metrics for each priority to measure and track progress 3. Develop a statement on prevention and response to disasters 4. Make available mitigation monies and commit to funding 5. Designate national lead person specific in Mental Health Disaster Response 6. Use existing opportunities to disseminate key message such as, APA Meeting in New Orleans, LA in October 2007 7. Increase education and awareness of self-efficacy and resiliency 8. Draft and publish national white paper on disaster mental health priorities for new national leadership 9. Clarify role of mental health, eg, establish scope of services STRATEGIES EMPLOYED AT ALL LEVELS (LOCAL, STATE, FED)
