  4. Services • Develop and maintain transdisciplinary assistive technology teams • Assist LEAs in conducting assistive technology evaluations • Suggest appropriate technology to meet IEP goals • Recommend instructional modifications and accommodations TED/TAM 2005

  5. Services • Support the development of AT resources within schools • Identify AT needs • Provide professional development in AT • Provide an AT lending library TED/TAM 2005

  6. Technical Assistance Instructor (TAI) Services • Assemble an assistive technology evaluation team • Collaborate with NET-AT Team Leaders on an assistive technology evaluation and written report • Consult with classroom educators • Provide the transdisciplinary education team with ideas for incorporating assistive technology into daily instruction. • Provide one-on-one instruction/assistance in the use of a device or software to a teacher, teaching assistant, parent, child, or other involved personnel. Technical Assistance Instructor (TAI) Services • Assist in researching devices and software to meet individual student needs • Follow-up on evaluation recommendations • Provide professional development workshops to teachers, assistants, related service professionals, and parents within the school system • Maintain the NET-AT Cooperative Lending Library TED/TAM 2005

Process of Evaluation • Referral • Submit a completed NET-AT Protocol Packet to the TAI • Initial Referral for AT Evaluation • Parent Survey • Written Parent Consent for AT Screening and Evaluation • Copy of current IEP, psychological and applicable medical reports • Copy of current screenings or assessments from related services personnel TED/TAM 2005

  10. Process of Evaluation • TAI conducts pre-intervention observation • AT team conducts evaluation • AT team composes written report • LEA team leader presents considerations at IEP team meeting • IEP is implemented • Follow-up • 6 months • 12 months • As needed TED/TAM 2005
