Accounting Major • Description—Prepares students for careers in public or private (corporate) accounting • Curriculum • Public—Financial auditing, individual tax, forensic accounting, accounting systems and controls • Private—Operational auditing, advanced corporate topics, accounting systems and controls

  6. Accounting – Careers, jobs • CPA firms • Audit (Assurance or IT), Consulting, Taxation • Corporations, Not-for-Profit, Government • cost accounting • corporate accounting • financial planning & analysis • internal audit • IT systems control • taxation • treasury • project finance

Accounting Information Systems • Dual major • Accounting • Information Systems • Curriculum – only 121 units (one more than Accounting) • Same core courses as Accounting majors • 120 Series covering Database Systems, Network Environments, Systems Analysis & Design, and IT Audit • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) • 150 Hours is NOT required • Higher pay/fewer hours than Accounting majors!!!

Finance • Description –to prepare student for a career in financial institutions, corporations and investments. • Curriculum • Finance Core: Fin’l Institutions & Markets, Investments and Fin Mgm’t –Theory & Policy, • Electives: Three courses from commerical banking, futures & options, portfolio management, entrepeneurial finance, risk management & insurance, internat’l finance, case problems in financial mangment,
