What is the Fest? • Philosophy • A community event • Celebration of our individual & shared culture • Show the Kaiserswerth community what ISD is about • Raise funds for Student-related ISD projects and ISD charities • Goals • Fest: To promote and celebrate the ISD community. • Boothleader: To promote and celebrate your portion of the ISD community. • Profit is good - having a community day is THE priority

  4. 33rd International Fest • Theme: Be inspired • Location: Elementary School Campus • Date: Saturday May 11, 2013

International Fest Elements • General Booths • Ticket sales • Special projects • School store • First Aid • Soft drinks • Activities • Flag parade • Auction • Entertainment (stage) • Children’s Entertainment • Bouncy Castle • Face painting • Photo Booth • ……. • Country booths • Food • Drinks • Games • Cultural Display • BEER & WINE Visitors (1500-2000) Students, Parents, Staff, Local Community Invite your neighbours

Fest Responsibilities • Booth Leaders: • Recruit volunteers to assist. • Decoration of Booth • Ordering Supplies and necessities • Provide forms to Core Team on Giving information in time • Keeping control of budget • Clean up booth area after fest • Garbage in appropriate bins. • Tables must be dismantled and returned to a central collection point. • Take all your decorations with you. • Check with Booth Coordinator before leaving. • NOTE: If you need help finding volunteers for your booth please contact Monica Markink or Louise Mather. • Core Team: • Organising General Booths • Organising Activities • Lay-out • Tents or small stands • Set-up of tents and stands • Buffet tables and high “bar” tables • Water for cleaning & cooking (tap situated at the end of the playground area) • Fire Extinguishers will be near or in each Booth when needed • Garbage Bins in each booth • Electricity • Hospitality • NOTE: Keep electricity requests down as much as possible.

  8. Booth Expenses • All Booths will be automatically refunded booth cost totaling 300 Euros with the return of a completed expense form. • Expenses of 301 Euros or more must be pre-approved by the Finance Team BEFORE being spent in order to be reimbursed. • Reimbursement will come after the Fest only with submission of receipts and a completed expense return form. • We will provide you with expense worksheets and expense return forms. • The Finance Team likes to smile and stay smiling!

  9. Ticket System • Only tickets can be used to pay for items for sale in your booth. Please send customers without tickets to the ticket sales at the entrance of the Fest. • Price the booth items in ticket values of 50 cents, 1 Euro, and 2 Euros. Change is to be made in tickets. NO Cash or coins. • Successful booths mean more funds for ISD projects and programmes! ( % of profit goes to C&S verein and % goes to students projects)

Silent Auction • Country booth donations Baskets from each country filled with regional specialities such as food items, games, liquor, travel books, or any item you wish. • JAM JARS! - save your jam jars and fill them with goodies for the smaller children. • As always we are looking for individual donations: donate personal services,tickets to an event, or an item to be included in our raffle! • All donations are greatly appreciated -large and small! With your help this auction will be a great success. Contact peggybarney@hotmail.com

  11. Donations • Donations to Booth or Auction by individuals and companies are Great. If you are asking companies for donations ask for the official ISD letter. • Company donations requesting a receipt? Please inform the company that they must provide evidence of the cost of the goods to the company, i.e. a receipt (this is not the value of the donation but the cost). • We love donations!

Entertainment • Break out your dancing shoes, warm up your voices.Come out and perform during the day of the FEST!We are especially interested in groups that show your native culture. • The groups can consists of any one from the ISD community.All acts must audition or be pure approved by the Entertainment Chair. • Auditions will be held in the upcoming weeks! • BE INSPIRED. • Contact Susanne Hirschberg to discuss your act: (susannelin@mac.com)

The International Fest Programme • What is required from the booth leaders? • A completed programme form, which you will find in the hand-out pack or on our intranet site under the ‘Programme tab’ • Deadline : Friday, 19th April 2013 • Submit your form to: isdfest@isdedu.de • Note: Please ensure that you have checked the spelling, including all signs and symbols.
