Hate Crime / Incident Report Flow Chart Initial Report After officer attendance and investigation/IMU contact with caller Investigation Supervisor Responsibility: - Report confirmed as hate - CRI’s investigated as per full crime reports - Investigation plan set - Allocate to an appropriate investigator - Comply with Victim Code (VC) - Regular Investigative reviews as per M62 SOP CLO It is essential that follow up contact by the CLO is considered This must take the victim wishes into account. Genesis CR / CRI Report Created Reactive Crime Identified Divisional SPOC review hate reports for quality of investigation and victim satisfaction. • Investigator Responsibility: • - Victim contact within first 24hrs of allocation (enhanced) • - CLO and NPU must be notified of report • M62 Policy /SOP applied • Investigation is progressed expeditiously • - Suspects are dealt with positively and appropriately • - Victims updated in accordance with the VC Crime Allocation Policy applied All hate reports and CRI reports must be reviewed by an Inspector prior to filing. Review and monitor the level of risk to the victim throughout the investigation and put in place appropriate interventions to reduce or remove any real or anticipated risks. This should include: NPU reassurance visit / CLO referral and contact / Victim support referral.
