Step 1 • LOCATE WATER REPORT READ WATER REPORTS • SELECT PRE-FILTERS Locate Water Reports by going to the government website at: http://www.epa.gov/safewater/ccr/whereyoulive.html?OpenView or  you may need to google the official city government website • Find the link for city departments • Go to public works department or utilities department • Look for “water quality” or water treatment information If you can’t find your water report, you can call your water department and ask for their website or ask them to mail you a copy of your water report.

Step 2 Check under the following categories within your water report: • Compliance Category • Maximum Containment Level • EPA (ADWG-Canadian Water Reports) If you see these words: • Violations • Non Compliance • Exceeded Standards • Above MCL (Maximum • Containment Level) No Violations or Compliance Under EPA & ADWG Most common cause is BACTERIA RECOMMENDED SOLUTION RECOMMENDED SOLUTION NO ADDITIONAL FILTERS REQUIRED BACTERIA FILTER and/or UV SYSTEM

  4. Step 3 YOU WILL HAVE TWO OPTIONS AT STEP 3. LOOK UNDER: HIGH LEVELS OF: • Median Category • Average Section • ARSENIC • LEAD AND/OR • FLUORIDE UNDER COMPONENTS RECOMMENDED FILTER • Aluminum • Arsenic • Cyanide • Fluoride • Lead • Manganese • Mercury ARSENIC, LEAD & FLUORIDE FILTER If the report shows a Lot of different heavy metals at low levels... RECOMMENDED FILTER HEAVY METAL FILTER

  5. Step 4 WAS THE HOUSE BUILT BEFORE 1986? Lead used in the solder will leach from the pipes into the water. RECOMMENDED FILTER ARSENIC, LEAD & FLUORIDE FILTER

  6. Step 5 Is there CHLORINE in the water report? Is there CHLORAMINE in the water report? RECOMMENDED FILTER RECOMMENDED FILTER STANDARD CARBON BLOCK FILTER (improves taste and smell) CHLORAMINE FILTER The water report will determine which one of our FREE CHLORINE or CHLORAMINE FILTERS your customer will receive with their Ionizer.
