  1. Hoy esmiércoles/jueves, el 26/27 de enero 26/27 enero 2011

  2. BELLWORK Please translate the following to Spanish. This can be done in your “TAREA” section of your class notebook. The pens are Ricardo’s. The pens are the director’s (male director). It is 1:00. It is at 1:00. The class is at 1:00pm. I need to do my homework at 1:00. When you are done, look at mistakes on your exam and see if you get why they’re wrong.

  3. The pens are Ricardo’s Las plumas son de Ricardo. NO definite articles with names.

  4. The pens are the director’s (male) Las plumas son del director. de + el = del “el” director because it is the director (not a name)

  5. It is 1:00 Es la una. “una” is feminine because “la hora” is feminine

  6. It is at 1:00 Es a la una. “Es” means: It is “a la una” means: at 1:00.

  7. The class is at 1:00pm. La clase es a la una de la tarde. “es” can mean “it is” if it doesn’t have a subject, or just “is” if there is a subject (la clase es= the class is)

  8. I need to do my homework at 1:00. Necesito hacer mi tarea a la una. No “es” in this statement because you are not saying something “IS” at a certain time, you’re saying I need to “DO” something at a certain time.
