  1. What is Decontamination, and what are its various Domains?    If you are well-acquainted with managing industrial and commercial buildings –           especially if pertains to the food production industry, chances are high that you have             heard of decontamination, or its colloquialisms dcon and decon numerous times.                               While in sectors other than food production industry it is still a somewhat luxury             afterthought of a budget allocation session for many medium-scale and small-scale           enterprises, decontamination is nevertheless a very important thing one should have a       perspective on.                                                 On surface level, it is quite easy to understand. The interior environments we reside,                 spend time, or manufacture things in, there are always contaminants meddling with it             to a varying extent.                             ‘Contaminant’ as a term has various meanings depending on the context of the field, for             example, it may means foreign footprints, fingerprints, hair and other remains in           forensic science when it is not leftover from the actual crime scene but from the first               responders to it.                                                     Although this is not quite what it means in the context of decontamination, it gets the                   gist correct. Every place – households, workplaces, factories, and public or community             places – is full of impurities, i.e. objects of ill import, for example, pathogens that could                     transmit diseases from one person to the next, foreign blood and saliva in a hospital               ward, or toxic residues in a factory that could potentially affect the object of that

  2. manufacturing professional decontamination services.    process.   Decontamination,   performed   either   by   oneself or by       In the industrial sector, industrial decontamination services are hired for various crucial           reasons – especially in the food processing industry, it is of paramount importance to             ensure that no harmful residue from the factory work (i.e. the contaminants) are             affecting the food, which would mean a major public health red flag.                                               Other than these, there are also various different sectors where toxic materials             accumulate either as prerequisites to or byproducts of the manufacturing process. The             biggest example is a nuclear power plant.                           Although workers seldom need to ever enter the radiation-controlled area, sometimes it             is an inevitability for maintenance or assessment reasons. In these cases, the             individuals have to undergo a thorough checkup in a dedicated decontamination room             under the supervision of a certified decontamination specialist.                                      Due to the many people that daily inhabit it for hours on end, even a workplace needs a                   commercial cleaning service, taking measures as recommended and gauged by a         decontamination specialist – including critter, rodent, and allergen removal.                                   The last, but not the least, is a household. A regular residential household, although it is                     usually much better cleaned and nourished than a standard factory space, it still has           unvisited places where critters, rodents, and contaminants pile up – the usual suspect           being the attic and the basement, which also make house decontamination a necessity               in the long run.
