  2. ◊ Before we answer what Bậc Trì is, let us investgate what 4 Cấp Huynh Trưởng are. ◊ Nội Quy says that Huynh Trưởng is a stream [ngành]. Other streams are Oanh Vũ [NgànhOanh], Thiếu Niên [Ngành Thiếu], and Thanh Niên [Ngành Thanh]. Ngành Huynh Trưởng comprise of 5 Ranks [Cấp] from lowest to highest: SơCấp, Tập, Tín, Tấn, Dũng. Their Cấp Hiệu look like this:SơCấp Cấp Tập Cấp Tín Cấp Tấn Cấp Dũngwears nothing◊ To be granted a Cấp, a Huynh Trưởng has to accomplish certain academic level, spiritual attainment, leadership skills, and experience. Bậc Trì paves the way to be awarded Cấp Tập.Cấp Tập is considered a full-fledged huynh trưởng, and a huynh trưởng Cấp Tập is on the first step of building a career in Ngành Huynh Trưởng.◊ Ngành Huynh Trưởng too has 4 levels of academic study: Kiên - Trì - Định - Lực. So Bậc Trì is the 2nd level of academic study, after Bậc Kiên. You would have completed Bậc Kiên to reach here. By default, 1 year after you have accomplished Bậc Trì and Trại A Dục, you will

  3. be awarded Cấp Tập. ◊ The term <<trì>> means to uphold. ◊What do we uphold ? We uphold the basics. You are studying to become a huynh trưởng Cấp Tập and as such will be given 7 tasks: - Manage a Đoàn. - Responsible for up to 32 junior members in Đoàn (Đoàn Sinh). - Provide Dharma lessons for your Đoàn Sinh. - Be a role model for Đoàn Sinh. - Work with other Đoàn trong Gia Đình Phật Tử. - Answer to Ban Huynh Trưởng about your Đoàn. - Liase with guardians of Đoàn Sinh. ◊As you can appreciate, to successfully complete these 7 tasks, a huynh trưởng Cấp Tập must be sure about GĐPT basics, GĐPT foundations. The basics that come to mind are: our organisational infrastructure, Nội Quy, Quy Chế Huynh Trưởng, Buddhist Dharma, who is supposed to do what. You would not want to be caught wrong in front of a guardian, would you ?

  5. ◊ There is a compulsory practical component which chủ nhiệm liase with your Ban Huynh Trưởng (BHT) for execution. Chủ nhiệm will collect results from your BHT. Each year you are required by the course to - Attend at least 8 chanting sessions, and - Attend at least 1 retreat. ◊ There is NO homework to be submitted □.
