  2. #1 RELAX!!! Your brain isBRILLIANT!!! It knows more than you think itknows! TRUST YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!

  3. #2 EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! If the directions say read….READ! Learn the difference between scan and read.

  4. Set a purpose for reading. Make more connections. Highlight words that are in italics like “except” or “most likely” or in CAPS (like “BEST” or “NOT”). #3 READ THE QUESTION!

  5. HIGHLIGHT,UNDERLINE, or CIRCLE the details (words and phrases) in the questions! This helps you focus on exactly what the question is asking. #4 "JAIL" THE DETAIL!

  6. Find that file in your brain that knows the answer by saying: “Hey, Brain! What do you know about this?” #5 MAKE CONNECTIONS!

  7. Predict what the answer is BEFORE you read the choices! #6 BE SLICK AND PREDICT!

  8. By reading the answers, you are making more connections! You get a lot more information about the question you are about to read or the chart, graph or picture you are about to analyze by reading all answer choices! #7 READ THE ANSWERS!

  9. Read ALL answer choices. Eliminate any choice(s) that you know is a wrong answer. The choice is obviously trash! Slash the Trash!! #8 SLASH THE TRASH!

  10. Once you have chosen your answer, plug it in and make sure it makes sense. #9 PLUG IT IN, PLUG IT IN!

  11. Charts and maps provide information to answer questions. Analyze all information provided before answering questions. #10 BE SMART WITH CHARTS & ZAP THE MAPS!

  12. Beware! If the answer is not bubbled or marked…Yikes! It will be wrong! Be sure to click on the answer you think is the right answer! #11 BE A WHIZ... WITH THE GRID!

  13. If you get a couple of questions that you just don’t know… DON”T GIVE UP!!!!! Mark it “Review later” and go back to it later! #12 KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

  14. Don’t leave questions unanswered. You will not have any chance of getting them right! #13 IF YOU SNOOZE, YOU WILL LOSE!

  15. QUESTION: What should you do if you start to get tired? ANSWER: Take a SHORT break and then go back to taking your test. #14 TAKE A BREAK...

  16. When you have completed the test, go back and check your work. Go the extra mile to reaffirm your answers! #15 CHECK IT OUT!
