  2. A.J.’s “Game of the Month” website What do you see? By: Ailene Goldsby

  3. Who? Why, Original Life Master: A.J. Goldsby! A “Life Master” title was given (under old rules) by the USCF to those who played 300 games while keeping a 2200 rating or better. WOW!! This title (that has been around for a long time) is also no longer in use, and therefore it is a good day when you find one!

  4. What? The “Game of the Month” website, created by A.J. Goldsby himself, has won many awards. His previous game of the month website on GeoCities (now closed) won the CJA best online chess analysis seven years in a row. His site was also site of the year in 2001 by the BCF, and by the CJA in 2004. Now, after a five year interlude (because of the upheaval in his personal life), he’s back!!!

  5. When? Since 2003 on GeoCities (now closed), A.J. has made 43 “games of the month”. His first being an analysis in October 2003 on the game between GM P. Svidler and GM A. Morozevich from the Russian National Championship. (Svidler won!)

  6. Where? Now, the game of the month is a website on a domain by A.J., but it started out as weekly columns in newspapers all over the south and in Ohio and Virginia. Then, he transferred his games to the Internet. His first site was with Excite (which crashed), then his first big website was with GeoCities. Then, when GeoCities family of websites was discontinued, His “game of the month” website was saved from the thousands of others from all the requests received. So, basically, the site is now improved and better than ever!

  7. Why? A.J. wants each game of the month to be a mini lesson, teaching people something they didn’t already know. Also, some people would enjoy seeing a carefully examined game, annotated by a chess master.

  8. How? Finally, how you can help. If you want to you may donate via paypal lifemasteraj@yahoo.com. Or you can visit to see what it’s all about! http://ajchess.com/thegotmman/index.html.

  9. Thank you for watching! This was a Powerpoint presentation for A.J. Goldsby’s game of the month website. Pictures, powerpoint, and optical illusion made by his daughter Ailene Goldsby. Pictures and optical illusion created in paint with help from Microsoft Encarta 2004 edition. Have a good day and God bless!
