Renaissance 2012-15 • Four strands to Renaissance • Programme of major grants- Major Partner Museums • Manchester Consortium: Manchester Museum, Manchester Art Galleries, Whitworth Art Gallery • Cumbria Consortium: Tullie House, Lakeland Art Trust, Wordsworth Trust 2. Strategic support fund 3. Museum development programme from August 2012 4. Group of national programmes

Renaissance 2012-15 -National programmes & Quality Support • National Standards – Accreditation and Designation • National Collections Purchase Programmes- V&A Prism Fund • National Sector Support Networks – Subject Specialist Networks •  National campaigns – Kids in Museums, Museums at Night •  One-off national projects – Commemorative activities relating to WW1, Cultural Olympiad • Technical and Statutory Functions- AELU, GIS, National Security Advisor

  7. Strategic Funds •  Strategic project funding £15m per annum • Accredited museums with over 150,000 visitors per annum • £50k to £500k awards • Specific activities to deliver goals in Culture, Knowledge and Understanding • 2012/13 – commission • 2013/15 – open application from September 2012

  8. Strategic Funds 2012/13 - £7m budget •  meeting geographic gaps in E. Midlands and S. Yorkshire • Nationally commissioned grants for projects and initiatives • Other regional strategic gaps • Project proposals developed in region June/July • End July regional office to submit proposals • 18 August decision • 1 October to 31 March - Delivery
