  2. 1. During Class: Pay Attention and Take Notes Follow the lecture in the textbook Put any requirements in your notes. Actually Dothe sample problems. Watch how the teacher does the examples. See what work steps must be shown. Ask questions if you don’t understand.

Prepare before starting the Written Homework Look up the assignment in your syllabus Find the HW Exercises in your textbook Before starting the written exercises: - See if you can do the Concept Check (1-8) Homework Teams are great for this unwritten warm-up. Take turns, check answers in the back of the text. C Format the first page of your Section HW with your name and complete HW assignment.

Prepare before doing each Exercise Group Before starting the 1st group’s written exercises: - Try the Getting Ready exercises (9-12) Section 1.2 HW has four exercise groups • Written HW, 13-29 every other odd: • Write down the group directions • Do the first exercise, 13 • Skip 4 (every other odd) and do 17 • Do 21, 25, 29 (rest of the group) • Check answers in the back of the text,correct any wrong ones or mark with X Find the 1st Exercise Group in your textbook C

  5. 4. Complete each group, then Score your HW Check answers in the back of the book. Count the number of exercises that are completely correct. That’s your Score. For each group in 1.2, check the Getting Ready exercises before you do the written homework C C 22 C C If you need to, use your notes to check the format of your work
