  2. This lesson is designed for primary teachers who are teaching Stage 2 & 3 Maths and who are using twitter. If you don't use Twitter and want to learn how, please go here to find some great tutorials for teachers. Click here for more free lesson plans!

  3. Lesson Plan 1. Send out a tweet similar to the one above, asking your followers to give you some real-time feedback. Make sure you use the hashtag #edchat for the best results! 2. While waiting for replies to come in, begin the instructive part of your lesson on page 3. Find out what they already know about chance. 3. Solicit feedback from your students about the vocabulary they use when talking about "chance" Plot these words on the number line from "Impossible/0%" to "Certain/100%" 4. Once replies start coming in, copy and paste them into your notebook (Or just use mine!) and plot them on the number line. 5. Have students work in pairs to create three statements that best describe a given level of chance, ie. something that is "impossible, 50/50, certain". The best of each category from the students gets tweeted back! 6. Follow-up/Homework: Have your students design a survey for their family and do the same process. Also you can collect many responses over a longer period and have your students map them to a geographic location. This could potentially integrate with many other lessons. 5. Great! Let's put those on a number line... Where does this vocabulary go? 25% 0% 50% 100% What's missing?

  6. We've got a lot of replies. Let's put all our tweets on the line! 100% 75% 50% 25% 0%
