  2. FRSAs • The FRSA contract updated to include support to deployed and non-deployed units. • The FRSAs will report to the FRA. • Authorization for five FRSAs. • One for each MSC except the 426RT2. • One additional FRSA for 32nd BCT. • One additional FRSA for the 157 MEB and 724 EN.

  3. Goals for the FRSA Program • Standardization of tasks. • Better communication. • Safeguarding privacy act information. • Measureable standards of performance. • More support to the Command family readiness program.

  4. Upcoming Changes • More support to the units • Correspondence • Tracking and Reporting • Improved Communication • Unit Readiness • Phone Trees/Newsletters • Mentorship programs

  5. Support to Family Program Office • Support SRP and SRC • Recruiting tool • Educate Soldiers about FRG. • Educate Soldiers how family members can get involved. • Support Family Program Conference. • Provide input on training for the Family Program Office. • Conduct Volunteer training.

  7. Track Informal Accounts • Requirements for unit’s with informal accounts. • Monthly status of funds to the Commander. • Annual spending plan. • Annual report to the first O6 in the chain of command. • Itemized list of deposits and expenditures. • Comparison of expenditures to spending plan.

Correspondence • FRG Volunteer Appointment Letter with MPOC • POC Duty Appointment Letter • Type Volunteer Agreement with CDR and Volunteer (DD Form 2793) • Type and track termination of Volunteers on Volunteer Agreement • Type new family welcome letter for MSC with FRG Lead information • Type new volunteer welcome letter for FRG personnel • Type and track new letters for volunteers when there is a change of command • Maintain Unit Training Binders and Records

  9. Phone Trees • Run reports for phone tree. • Compare FMR data against fwd deployed roster for all units on Title 10 orders. • Contact Soldiers on the FWD Deployed alpha roster for FRG family data. • Provide phone tree data monthly. • Soldiers that processed through SRP/SRC will be up to date. • Verify rosters against alpha lists to ensure that FMR data integrity.

  10. Unit Readiness • Review unit status monthly. • Provide status reports to MSC and distribute to sub commands. • Provide course of action to attain 100% readiness. • Track training readiness. • Include training readiness course of action to achieve 100%.

  11. Communication • Attend MSC/BN Meetings to provide FRG status/FRSA Awareness • Communicate with volunteers via JSS E-Blast functions at least once a quarter • Contact FRG leaders monthly to address areas of concern, train, etc. • Ensure that each volunteer is registered in JSS • Assist volunteers with tracking volunteer hours in JSS • Communicate at a minimum of quarterly with MPOC/CDRs

  12. Newsletters • On a rotating basis write a newsletter article for non-deployed unit. • Develop newsletter template with peer/distribute general newsletter monthly. • Develop unit specific newsletter data. • Develop standard template for deployed unit newsletter.

Meet Mission Requirements • The mission of the FRSA • Maintain continuity and stability of the assigned units’ Family Readiness Groups as the units undergo changes in military members, volunteers, and leadership. • Vision: Developing resilient families: Strong • adaptable, independent Families, couples, and • individuals.

Family Readiness Assistant • The Family Readiness Assistant, Deb Benz, is working to develop a mentorship and outreach program with the RSP units. • We hope to reach out to families, as soon as a Soldier joins the Guard. • Our intent is to use this as an opportunity to recruit new volunteers.

FRG Summary of duties • FRG Recruitment • Welcome Letter to all new unit affiliates to Soldier’s family. • Letter well explain FRG to family and provide contact for the unit FRG Leader • FRG Development – Ideally attend training within 90 days. • Maintain volunteer records • Volunteer/MPOC appointment letter (one letter) • DD Form 2793 Volunteer Agreement form (Statutory) • Volunteer Agreements should be signed and accepted by the Commander, the Commander states what tasks the volunteer is authorized to conduct. Sign termination at end of volunteer service • FRG Management • Maintain spreadsheet with volunteer name, unit, UIC, position, military point of contact, and Commander. • Track training status, Vol Agreement, and Appointment letter
