Introduction The Global Sharks, are invested in helping our community partner (The Ocean Explorium) inform the general public of shark conservation, global awareness ofenvironmental problems associated with our oceans. This presentation will provide an overview of what we have accomplished so far and what we are in the process of completing.

Tasks already completed • Selected our community partner and created a relationship with The Ocean Explorium and Abbey Spargo • Scouted out Beaches for clean up • Created a calendar to keep us on track with our commitments • Promoting our community partner (ongoing) • Team Meetings (ongoing) • Wiki Assignments

  7. Campus Center Booth Accomplished: • Talked with Net Impact about a March 28th date Prospective: • Promote the Ocean Explorium and events that we will be involved with; Beach cleanup, Raffle. • Booth will accept donations for Ocean Explorium

  8. Beach Clean-Up Accomplished: • Scouted out Beaches, Beach next to Fort Taber Academy is a likely possibility. • Abbey gave us the seal of approval on a beach cleanup in the name of the Ocean Explorium, potentially wearing shirts that will advertise their logo. Prospective: • As of now, the clean up is scheduled for the 14th of April. Specifics of the event have not yet been finalized. • Net Impact has been informed of the event and are optimistic about the turnout. • During the next Net Impact meeting, the event will be brought up again to tally final participation.

  9. Parade Accomplished: • Adam Sulkwoski has mentioned that materials from the library construction are available for us to use in the construction of our float Prospective • Further Promote the O.E. and their shark initiative. • Gather materials from Robert Bidlack’s business to build our float

Problems • Our initial choice for a community partner, Forever Paws, didn’t fit our teams mission. • After we realized that our initial choice was not going to work in our favor, we migrated to working with The Ocean Explorium. This in turn, caused a delay in progress. • Scheduling team meetings can be somewhat difficult, due to coordinating various people’s schedules.

  11. Unexpected Opportunities • Abbey mentioned, potentially, working with Children from Roosevelt Elementary School. • Learning more about the New Bedford community and it’s valuable resources; the beach, the OE and Fort Taber.

  12. Conclusion • Team Global Sharks is looking forward to all our planned events, and actively following our calendar to ensure everything is completed on time. • We are excited to educated ourselves as well as the New Bedford community on the importance of ocean conservation.
