  15. TRUE OR FALSE. CLARK MADE AYP IN THE AREAS OF READING AND MATH IN 2012?

  16. TRUE!! WAY TO GO!! LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!!!

  17. Random Nuts and Bolts…. Teachers will pick up students at their lunch tables, not in the hallway. Suzann Jansen is our new special education coach. Still not determined when she will be at Hunt. Schedules need to be turned in electronically by August 24th. Send to both Amy and Angela. Needs to include: second step, math , science and social studies times.

  18. Internet videos for k-5 students on internet safety. Send email when you have completed the videos. Must be viewed by Friday, August 24th. Flip books have been ordered for each teacher for Iowa Core in reading.

  19. CLARK WIKI The wiki will be used to locate any forms or documents that you may need. Our focus is to use the least amount of paper possible!! The wiki is one destination that will have everything you need! LOG ONTO: http://clarkelementary.wikispaces.com/

  20. LETS LOOK AT THE DATA!!AYP DATA AT A GLANCE PLEASE DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS WHILE LOOKING AT THE DATA: What implications does this data have on our building? What implications does this data have on our students? What implications does this data have on our instruction?

  21. END OF THE YEAR SURVEY DATA ANALYSIS Teachers felt as though professional development was improving, but still felt disjointed at times. Teachers felt as though there was more support due to having two administrators. Teachers still felt as though they need more technology training.

  22. END OF THE YEAR SURVEY DATA ANALYSIS: Lack of communication regarding discipline and parent contact. There was a consistent concern regarding our every growing class size.

  23. IMPLICATIONS 1. We will have a more focused model of professional development. a. PD will be centered around collaboration b. Focus of collaboration will be Iowa Core, Go Math and student interventions for first quarter 2. We will provide weekly technology training before school and will plan according to teacher need.

  24. IMPLICATIONS CONTD… Class Size: We are and will continue to be sensitive to your frustrations regarding this issue. We will be meeting with our central office administrators to discuss this matter. You have our full support!! We will be doing anything we can to better support you when and if your class size grows. We will me making phone calls to parents who want to transfer into Clark due to SINA and “sell” them on why they should stay in their home school.

  25. Implications Contd. 5. Issues of professionalism in the office have and will continue to be addressed in regards to the intercom and discussing issues with parents. 6. Communication and documentation of discipline will be enforced.

  26. Implications contd…. We will be following a building wide change of discipline procedure: All students must have had 3 prior documented referrals before being sent to the office. (exceptions-fighting, talking back to teacher, committal of a crime such as stealing and bullying) All referrals written will be documented. Once you have completed the referral form put it in the Amy and Angela’s box. We will then look it over and give to Alice and she will enter it into Pinnacle. We then have an official record

  27. Implications contd… If student is sent to the office, they must have a written referral in their hand as to why they are in the office. In cases where this is not possible, be sure to tell Alice or Dee Dee. Alice has a referral file that she will file and organize all referrals. This provides solid discipline documentation. b. The yellow copy goes home, pink stays with the teacher and the white copy comes to the office.

  28. Implications contd… Alice will give the referral forms the administrator in the building at that current time. If you would like Amy or Angela to talk with a student before 3 referrals that is OK!! Please email BOTH of us and we will respond in a timely manner. ANY ISSUE YOU NEED TO DISCUSS WITH AMY OR ANGELA NEEDS TO BE EMAILED IF WE ARE NOT AVAILABLE. ALICE SHOULD NOT BE THE GO BETWEEN. WE ARE MAKING IT A PRIORITY TO CHECK OUR EMAIL FREQUENTLY.
