STAAR Grades 3-8 Results Explanation

  • TEA will not provide performance standards until January 2013.

  • When setting performance standards, scale scores are calculated which is a conversion of the raw score onto a scale that takes into account the difficultylevel of the specific set of questions used on a test in any given year.

  • The average number of items correct (raw scores) were provided at the state and district level.

  • The information provided is designed to help the Board understand where the district stands relative to the State.

STAAR Average Raw Score* for Reading and Writing, Grades 3-8
