What We’re Learning: Reading : We are going to build our reading stamina and work on setting goals. Writing: We are continuing to work on a descriptive paragraph. Math: 1st – We are starting our second topic “Understanding Subtraction”. (Missing Parts/Number Sentences.) 2nd –We are starting our second topic, “Addition Strategies”. (Doubles, near doubles, adding in any order and adding 3 numbers.) Science and Social Studies: In science we will make our own mobiles and we will start comparing the weight of selected objects. Special Announcements: Picture Day is Wednesday, October 2nd! Our time for pictures is 1:00 – 1:15. Please turn in your order forms if you want to order pictures. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be the last week in October. Please look for the “Parent Conference Preference Form” on October 4th. Give me your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences for conference times and dates so we can schedule a conference that is the most convenient for your family. Return the form by October 10th.
