  2. Osman ÖZKAN (District Director of National Education in Çan) He has been working as district director of national education in Çan for 6 years. In our county; Pre-school, Primary, Secondary and Non-formal Education coordination and planning work is carried out by our institution.

  7. Aims and Facilities Çan Provincial Education Authority is a Turkish non-profit governmental administrative organisation in Çan, Çanakkale. It coordinates all types of schools, education centers and education actions-seminars, projects, in service trainings- in the district. Aims: - Toexamine and control the education and teaching programmes which have been practised in Nursery Schools, Primary Schools, General High Schools, Vocational High Schools and Education Centres for adults in the structure of the city  and to improve the programme. - To introduce the new education and teaching systems to the trainers in the associations and to lead education about the programmes. To organize seminar and conference according to the needs of the associations.

  8. Responsibilities It has the responsibility and authorization on 1 Nursery school, 16 Primary and Secondary Schools, 9 High Schools, 2 education centers for disabled learners, 1 Adult Education Center and 1 Vocational Training Center in the district. Other than these non-profit governmental schools, it coordinates 6 Private Course Centers, 4 Driving Courses, 1 Special Education and Rehabilitation Center and 4 Private Student Hostels. It leads 8300 young and 2300 adult learners,500 teachers and 30 educational directors.

  9. 1.PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION (Preschool Education) Pre-school education encompasses the education of children between the ages of 0-6 (36-72 months) who have not reached the age of compulsory primary education, on optional basis.

  10. 2.PRIMARY EDUCATION Involves the education of children between the ages of 6-14. It is compulsory (8 year) for all citizens, boys and girls and given free of charge in public schools. At the end of the primary education graduates receive ‘Primary Education Diploma’.

  31. SPECIAL EDUCATION It covers the education of mentally, physically, socially and emotionally handicapped children and adolescents between the ages 0-18, who can not benefit from the normal education.

NON-FORMAL EDUCATION Non-formal education is one of the two main branches of Turkish education system and covers the education of the citizens who have never entered the formal education system or are at any level of it or have left at a level. Non-Formal Education covers all the education, training and guiding activities carried out both in and out of the formal education system.
