  2. Water is essential for all life. Plants and animals rely on water to survive. Water covers about 2/3 of the earth’s surface. The way water moves around the world and the way it is stored is called the water cycle.   4. When moisture is lost by evaporation from plant leaves Transpiration

  5. When water vapour gets converted back into liquid water Condensation

  6. When moisture falls back to earth in the form of rain, sleet, hail, snow, fog, dew and frost Precipitation

  7. When water seeps and moves into the soil Infiltration

  8. When water moves down through the layers of soil and rock to become groundwater Percolation or throughflow

  9. After rain, water can flow across the surface of the earth Surface Runoff

  10. Groundwater: Water that has percolated through the soil.
