Included in the cost of the program: • 15 Weeks academic program at the University of Szeged • Room and Board throughout the semester. • Fulltime UWSP tuition for Wisconsin Residents (Minnesota students qualify for reciprocity, surcharge for other out-of-staters is only $1000.) • UW-System mandatory health/travel insurance. • Four-day entry study tour to enchanting Budapest and train transfer to Szeged. • Weekend/Day trips to Pecs and Mohac ALL FOR ONLY $4,900 – 5,400!!

  3. Szeged The University of Szeged is located in the city of Szeged in Csongrád County on the Great Plain or Nagy Alföld in southeastern Hungary.

  4. Welcome to the University of Szeged! The number of full-time students is approximately 13,000 making it the second largest institution of higher education in Hungary.

You are able to choose from a number of • different courses during your stay including: • Communication 362 – Topics in Film History: Hungarian Film in Its Social Context • Foreign Language 100 – Basic Conversation Skills: Hungarian for Beginners • Geography 328 – Geography: Hungary and Central Europe • History 312 – Regional History: East-Central Europe: Past, Present, Perspectives • International Studies 391 – Special Topics: Hungary at Large • Political Science 490 – Selected Problems: Political Transition and Integration Policy in Hungary • Your classes will be with Hungarian students studying English as well as other • international students from around the world studying in Hungary!

  6. HUNGARY AND EAST-CENTRAL EUROPE INTERNATIONAL STUDIES FACULTY OF ARTS FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS The University’s buildings are located throughout the central part of the city; however most of the Hungarian Studies courses are situated within the Hungarian Studies building.

  8. LIVING CONDITIONSIN SZEGED Within the first few days of arriving, English speaking Hungarian students who study English will assist you in locating adequate housing within the city center. You can live with friends or with Hungarian students.

  18. TO APPLY: • Fill out an application • Complete three references • Provide a course history [or official transcript for non-UWSP students] • Write an essay explaining your motivations for going

  19. Next… • Attend a pre-acceptance meeting • Then a final meeting • Finally, wait for your letter of acceptance!

Financial Aid • Must have a letter of acceptance • Take letter to financial aid so they can adjust your FAFSA • If you receive an email regarding the SSAI grant you are eligible for $750-2000 (based on financial status & GPA) • Questions on how much aid you’re eligible for?
