  9. Any student who uses profanity, initiates aggressive physical contact, damages school property, or is disrespectful will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY.

  10. Classroom Procedures

  11. Procedures Go between classes and during breaks! • If it is an emergency, ask permission. • Get pass and sign out. • Be back with in 2-5 minutes.

  12. Hall Pass • When going to the bathroom or library, you must get a pass from me and sign out with the time you left and the time you returned.

  13. Procedures Quiet, please… • When anyone is at the front of the room giving a presentation, please give them your full attention. Absolutely no talking when your classmates or I are at the front addressing the class.

  14. Procedures Entering the Room Enter quietly! Take your homework out to be checked. I will come by to check homework during SSR. It is your responsibility to have it out. Begin SSR or warm-up

  15. Procedures Leaving the Classroom • Wait for my dismissal. • Listen for homework and announcements. • Quietly gather your things. • Check around your desk for items and trash. • Arrange desk for the next class.

  16. Policies late work, homework, & disciplinary

  17. English Dept. policy allows for the teacher to assess a 10% deduction per each class day the work is overdue.

  18. late work Mrs. Setliff’s Policy: Students should talk to me BEFORE an assignment is late! If there is a good reason for the late work I will take that into consideration in extending deadlines.

  19. late work • 10% reduction on the earned score for major assignments (e.g. projects, papers, tests). • 50% reduction for practice homework. • If the homework is for an in-class lesson, you will not be able to turn in late work for any credit.

  20. Late Work • Assignments that are late will be given a Z in the online Clarity grading book (meaning that the student has earned 0% because the work has not been turned in.) That Z will be changed once the work has been turned in and graded.

  21. late work • At the end of a quarter, if a student has a Z for an assignment that Z will remain a 0% and will factor into the student’s G.P.A.

  22. Disciplinary Policy 1st Time: Guideline infractions and late homework will result in an infraction notice that must be signed, dated, and given back to me.
